Release Date of ALS A&E 2016-2017 Test Results

The release of November 19 and 26, 2017 Accreditation and Equivalency Test will be on-or-before January 31, 2018.

The source of this information is the Memorandum OM-PFO-2017-1277 from the office of the Undersecretary Jesus L.R. Mateo, dated December 1, 2017.

Also in the said memorandum, mentioned the release of the Batch 2017 A&E Test results which is on-or-before April 30, 2018.

Update About the Release of ALS A&E 2015-2016 Test Results

Last June 7, 2016, Deped-ALS.com made a phone inquiry about the results of ALS A&E 2015 examination via Bureau of Alternative Learning System's hotline.

Unfortunately, the response they gave is still indefinite. Below are the provided information:

  • The results will be handed to BALS' office on July 15, 2016.
  • BALS advised test takers to call BEA office on the 2nd week of July (2016) for more recent updates about the release of results.
  • **The information above are from one of the BALS' office personnels who attended our inquiry.

To those who would want to confirm the information, you may also call BALS' hotline via these numbers: (02) 635-5189, 635-5188, 635-5194, or 635-5193. Remember to be goal oriented when calling, expect that whoever will attend your concerns possesses a not so nice phone-manners. If so, please still remain polite and respectful.

The copy of the complete and official list of passers for the Calendar Year 2015-2016 of ALS Accreditation and Equivalency (A&E) Test both for Elementary and Secondary Level will be posted in this page when it will be released by the Department of Education's BALS.

Quick Tips and Friendly Reminders for ALS A&E Test Takers

Essay

  • Sentence construction. Mas simple, mas kaunti ang ginamit na salita ngunit kumpleto pa rin ang mensahe/malinaw na nai-deliver ang bawat punto, mas okay.
  • Grammar and spelling. Siguraduhing tama ang lahat ng spelling at grammar. Maging consistent sa tenses(nangyari, nangyayari, mangyayari).
  • Narrative. Maging consistent sa paraan ng pagkukwento. Kung sino ang nagkukwento/nagsasalita sa essay at kung sino ang kinakausap (kung 1st, 2nd, 3rd person.)
  • Punctuations. Gamitin nang tama.
  • Capitalization.
    • Big letter ang first letter ng proper nouns(pangalan ng tao, hayop, lugar, atbp. halimbawa: )
    • Big letter ang bawat first letter ng mga salita sa title
    • Big letter ang first letter ng unang salita ng pangungusap
    • Big letters lahat ng letter ng acronym (halimbawa: ALS, NSO, DOH, NBI)
    • Big letter kapag ang tinutukoy ay ang Diyos, kahit panghalip/pronoun (halimbawa: Tayo ay magpasalamat sa mga biyayang ipinagkaloob Niya sa atin. Tanging Siya lamang ang dapat papurihan. Ang lahat ng biyayang ito ay nagmula sa Kanya.)
  • Redundancy of ideas. Huwag ulitin ang ideas/punto na nabanggit na, kahit pa i-rephrase o ikutin ang paliwanag. Makatutulong ang paggawa ng list of ideas/outline upang maiwasan ito. I-click ang link na ito para sa video demo: Plan your essay using List of Ideas).
  • Redundancy of words used. Iwasan ang paggamit ng parehong salita sa loob ng isang pangungusap. Gumamit ng kasing-kahulugang salita.
  • Use pronouns. Iwasan ang maraming beses na pagbanggit sa subject sa loob ng pangungusap at paragraph. Gumamit ng pronoun/panghalip sa pagkakataong kailanganging banggitin muli ang subject.
  • Malalalim na salita. Huwag piliting gumamit ng malalim na salita kung hindi naman sanay/sigurado. Kung mayroong pagkakataon, palitan lamang ang mga common words ng mas pormal na salita.
    Halimbawa:
    • para = upang
    • dahil = sapagkat
    • tama = wasto
    • totoo = tunay
    • puwede = maaari
    • puwede = posible
    Instantly, magtutunog malalim ang iyong composition.
  • Slang. Iwasan ang paggamit ng salitang wala sa diskyunaryo at mga pinaigsing salita. Mas recommended gamitin sa essay ang orihinal na spelling ng salita.
    Halimbawa:
    • meron = mayroon
    • n'ya = niya
    • s'ya = siya
    • 'wag = huwag
    • 'di = hindi
    • 'pag = kapag
    • ako'y = ako ay
    Ang tulong din nito ay makadadagdag sa kabuuang haba ng composition.
  • Ideas. Siguraduhing ang lahat ng sentence/punto ay related sa topic.
  • Physical format
    • Format. Indented o block, kahit ano ang gamitin. Maging consistent lamang.
    • Title. Naka-center at nakasulat sa pinaka-unang linya ng sulatang papel.
    • Spacing. Mayroong 1 space na pagitan pagkatapos ng title at bawat paragraphs(intro, body, closing/conclusion/summary)
    • Margin. At least 1 inch sa magkabilang gilid
  • Iwasang pagdikitin ang dalawang salita.
    Halimbawa:
    • palang = pa lang
    • nalang = na lang
    • parin = pa rin
    • sakin = sa akin
  • Penmanship. Hangga't maaari ay gandahan ang pagsulat, sundin ang standard strokes tulad ng itinuro noong kinder at grade school. Recommended ang cursive/dikit-dikit dahil mas mabilis itong isulat at ito ang inaasahan sa age group ng mga ALS takers. Kung mas sanay sa printed, siguraduhin lamang sumusunod sa standard strokes, hindi all-caps, hindi gothic, hindi cartoon, etc. Lakihan nang kaunti upang madaling mabasa kahit ng mga matatanda/malalabo na ang paningin (asahang mayroong ganitong kundisyon sa paningin ang karamihan ng mga magche-check ng essay).
  • Take your time. Huwag mataranta o magmadali, huwag maapektuhan masyado sa time pressure o isiping baka hindi matapos. Wala namang sinabing tapusin diba? :-) Seryoso po, siguraduhin lang na tama ang sentence construction, spelling, grammar, use of punctuations, format, etc. malaki ang chance na papasa po kayo. Mayroong ilang ALS students mula sa mga nakaraang taon ang nangambang baka hindi sila pumasa dahil hindi nila natapos ang essay ngunit nang ini-release ang result ay naroon ang pangalan nila at ang iba ay mayroong matataas na marka sa essay. It is safe to assume na considerate naman ang mga nagche-check. Madali rin namang malaman kung maganda ang takbo ng binabasang essay kahit pa hindi natapos dahil nga sa time limit. It is safe to assume ding hindi lang ang mga punto/ideas na isinulat ang chine-check-an/pinagbabasehan ng score, kundi ang writing skills din.


Multiple Choice

  • Review, Review, Review. Review-hin lamang nang paulit-ulit ang mga ni-review sa ALS center. Ang mga nire-review sa center ang scope ng exam. Kung regular na uma-attend sa review classes, walang dapat ikabahala.
  • Move on. Kadalasan ay unang ipinagagawa ang essay. Kung hindi ka kuntento sa iyong ginawang essay, huwag mo nang isipin ito para hindi na ma-distract pa, wala ka na rin namang magagawa pa sa essay mo. Sa tuwing maiisip ito ay huminga lamang nang malalim ng tatlo hanggang limang beses para ma-relax, sunod ay mag-concentrate na sa pagsagot ng multiple choice. Kung palagay mong mababa ang makukuhang score sa essay, piliting maibigay ang tamang sagot sa lahat ng items sa multiple choice para mahatak ang score sa essay at pumasa pa rin.
  • Huwag magmadali. Huwag isipin ang katabi kung mabilis natapos o kung nahuhuli ka na. Mag-concentrate sa sinasagutan. Isiping ikaw lang at ang proctor ang nasa loob ng room. Kadalasan sa mga nauunang matapos ay hindi nakakapasa o hindi kaya naman ay pang-ilang ulit na nilang kumuha ng exam kaya medyo sanay na.
  • Huwag mangopya. Maaaring ibang set/subject ang sinasagutan ng katabi. Halimbawa, ang number 1 na tanong sa test booklet mo ay number 24 naman sa katabi mo.

Announcement: Changes in some RTC Assignments for the ALS A&E Test, Scheduled on April 17 and 24, 2016

Changes in the ALS A&E Registration and Testing Centers (RTCs) for the School Year 2015-2016

DepEd announced in their website about the changes in the ALS A&E Registration and Testing Centers for the upcoming examination on April 17 and 24, 2016.

The changes is due to some conflicts with the availability of the concerned RTCs. The changes are as follows:
